A Swedish diplomat who worked at the Swedish Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam 1982-1985, the paintings were purchased directly from the artist. Other staff at the embassy also pruchased paintings at this time. Some of them were exhibited at an exhitition of this artist at the Östasiatiska museet in Stockholm.

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mother and children in a village. by Bui Xuan Phai was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of SEK 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of SEK 32,000.00 (€ 2,868.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bui Xuan Phai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Houses in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,625,000.00 (€ 171,775.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mother and children in a village. von Bui Xuan Phai kam im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von SEK 32.000,00 (€ 2.868,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bui Xuan Phai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Houses im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.625.000,00 (€ 171.775,05).
