Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bryson Burroughs could be acquired at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in December last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Studio Art auction, the work Study for Helen at her Toilet Initialed 'B.B.' along the lower edge. Watercolor and gouache on paper, framed. sight 6 x 7 1/2 in. (15.3 x 19.1 cm) changed hands for USD 127.50 (€ 119.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200.00 – 250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bryson Burroughs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Fisherman in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,566.80).
