Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Australian landscape by Bryan Westwood was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 4,560.00 (€ 2,661.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bryan Westwood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Five Jockeys In A Row (Silks From Cummings, Green And Begg Stables, Sydney) in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 48,000.00 (€ 29,514.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Australian landscape von Bryan Westwood im August 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 4.560,00 (€ 2.661,89) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bryan Westwood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Five Jockeys In A Row (Silks From Cummings, Green And Begg Stables, Sydney) im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 48.000,00 (€ 29.514,31).
