Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two etchings by Bruce Onobrakpeya was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,026.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bruce Onobrakpeya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zaria Indigo in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,325.00 (€ 69,401.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Two etchings von Bruce Onobrakpeya wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 1.026,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bruce Onobrakpeya erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zaria Indigo im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.325,00 (€ 69.401,78).
