This artwork by Bruce Onobrakpeya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Paris in November 2021. In the Art Moderne & Contemporain Africain auction, the work The Last Days of Christ sold for EUR 14,025.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bruce Onobrakpeya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Zaria Indigo in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,325.00 (€ 69,401.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bruce Onobrakpeya erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Moderne & Contemporain Africain wurde die Arbeit The Last Days of Christ für EUR 14.025,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bruce Onobrakpeya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Zaria Indigo im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.325,00 (€ 69.401,78).
