Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Four-fold screen with four Plastocast reliefs by Bruce Onobrakpeya. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,802.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bruce Onobrakpeya achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zaria Indigo in September 2020 with an auction result of USD 81,325.00 (€ 69,401.78).
