Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Mirror by Bruce McLean for GBP 625.00 (€ 656.43). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Bruce McLean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Handbags, Two Ladders in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,744.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mirror von Bruce McLean für GBP 625,00 (€ 656,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bruce McLean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Handbags, Two Ladders im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.744,26).
