Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for 'Daniel in the Lion's Den' by Briton Rivière was sold in the British and European Art auction at Bonhams in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,171.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Briton Rivière achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Requiescat in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 111,150.00 (€ 162,275.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for 'Daniel in the Lion's Den' von Briton Rivière wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.171,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Briton Rivière erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Requiescat im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 111.150,00 (€ 162.275,49).
