Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Poachers by Briton Rivière was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in June 2005. The price achieved of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,341.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Briton Rivière have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Requiescat in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 111,150.00 (€ 162,275.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Poachers von Briton Rivière wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.341,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Briton Rivière auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Requiescat im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 111.150,00 (€ 162.275,49).
