A top price for Brian McCarthy - as previously expected
The work The South Seas by Brian McCarthy was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2007. The price achieved of GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,478.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The South Seas is the most expensive artwork by Brian McCarthy that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit The South Seas von Brian McCarthy kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.478,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The South Seas das teuerste Kunstwerk von Brian McCarthy, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
