Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale Part II, which included the work The Blue Vase by Brian McCarthy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,180.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Brian McCarthy have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2007 the work The South Seas was auctioned for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,478.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Irish Sale Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Blue Vase von Brian McCarthy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.180,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Brian McCarthy konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2007 die Arbeit The South Seas für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.478,23) versteigert.
