Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Close Likeness by Brian Calvin was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July last year. The price achieved of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 62,888.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brian Calvin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work California Freeform, which sold at auction in June 2021 for USD 151,200.00 (€ 127,616.48).

Die Arbeit Close Likeness von Brian Calvin kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 62.888,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Brian Calvin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit California Freeform beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für USD 151.200,00 (€ 127.616,48) versteigert wurde.
