This artwork by Brett Weston achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2010. In the Photographs from the Polaroid Collection auction, the work Dunes sold for USD 27,500.00 (€ 22,374.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brett Weston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Hand And Ear' (Ramiel Mcgehee), which sold at auction in April 2012 for USD 62,500.00 (€ 47,244.69).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Brett Weston erzielte im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs from the Polaroid Collection wurde die Arbeit Dunes für USD 27.500,00 (€ 22.374,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Brett Weston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Hand And Ear' (Ramiel Mcgehee) beobachtet, die im April 2012 für USD 62.500,00 (€ 47.244,69) versteigert wurde.
