Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer, which included the work Abstract Figures by Blake Edwards. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of USD 408.00 (€ 367.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Blake Edwards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Llama in March last year with an auction result of USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,367.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract Figures von Blake Edwards zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 408,00 (€ 367,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Blake Edwards erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Llama im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.845,00 (€ 4.367,62).
