Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Pipe Smoke by Billy Childish was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,095.76), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Billy Childish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work toward a shore in March last year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 194,203.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Pipe Smoke von Billy Childish wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.095,76) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Billy Childish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit toward a shore im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 194.203,34).
