A top price for Bill Whiskey Tjapaltjarri - as previously expected
The work Rockholes Near Ayers Rock by Bill Whiskey Tjapaltjarri was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. The price achieved of AUD 18,600.00 (€ 10,530.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Rockholes Near Ayers Rock is the most expensive artwork by Bill Whiskey Tjapaltjarri that we have observed at auctions so far.
