Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Little Cowboy's Delight by Bill Owen was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 937.50 (€ 823.89). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bill Owen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tatanka, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,197.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Little Cowboy's Delight von Bill Owen im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 937,50 (€ 823,89) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Bill Owen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tatanka beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.197,03) versteigert wurde.
