Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cowboy Artist by Bill Nebeker was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 768.96). Admittedly, works by Bill Nebeker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Wonder of it All 23 1/2 in. high in November last year with an auction result of USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,793.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cowboy Artist von Bill Nebeker im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 875,00 (€ 768,96) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Nebeker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Wonder of it All 23 1/2 in. high im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.793,08).
