This artwork by Bill Hinz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2003. In the PLAYBOY AT 50 auction, the work Untitled (The Drummer) sold for USD 1,553.50 (€ 1,233.23) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bill Hinz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Bass Player with Rabbit Head) sold at auction in December 2003 with the realized price of USD 2,987.50 (€ 2,371.60).
