Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Four works: (i) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes I; (ii) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes II; (iii) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes III; (iv) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes IV by Betsabée Romero was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5 Admittedly, works by Betsabée Romero have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sans titre in June 2004 with an auction result of EUR 16,730.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Four works: (i) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes I; (ii) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes II; (iii) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes III; (iv) Rodadas de diferentes latitudes IV von Betsabée Romero im Oktober 2009 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.625,00 (€ 3.812,27) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Betsabée Romero auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sans titre im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 16.730,00.
