Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Running Up The Estuary by Bertram Priestman was sold in the British & Continental Watercolours including Original Book auction at Christies in London in December 2003. The price achieved of GBP 352.50 (€ 499.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bertram Priestman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Angler; Green Valley in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).
