Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bertina Lopes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October last year. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Untitled, 1977 sold for GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,110.93) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bertina Lopes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ritratto sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of GBP 20,250.00 (€ 24,008.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bertina Lopes erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled, 1977 für GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.110,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bertina Lopes; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ritratto im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 20.250,00 (€ 24.008,65).
