Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of an Indian by Bert Geer Phillips for USD 8,812.50 (€ 9,447.36). This price was achieved in the auction California, Western and American Paintings at Christies in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bert Geer Phillips achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Magic Deer Song in May last year with an auction result of USD 378,000.00 (€ 352,250.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of an Indian von Bert Geer Phillips für USD 8.812,50 (€ 9.447,36) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion California, Western and American Paintings bei Christies in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bert Geer Phillips erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Magic Deer Song im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 378.000,00 (€ 352.250,49).
