Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Adoration of the Shepherds by Bernardo Castello was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna auction at Christies in New York in January 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,761.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernardo Castello - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Christ Heals The Centurion'S Servant, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 34,000.00 (€ 22,909.51).
