This artwork by Bernardino Luini achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2020. In the Master Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work Three Putti Standing Atop Clouds, Gazing Downward In Adoration sold for USD 400,000.00 (€ 360,587.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bernardino Luini; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Saint Sebastian sold at auction in July 2007 with the realized price of GBP 423,200.00 (€ 628,549.69).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Bernardino Luini erzielte im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Three Putti Standing Atop Clouds, Gazing Downward In Adoration für USD 400.000,00 (€ 360.587,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bernardino Luini; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Saint Sebastian im Juli 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 423.200,00 (€ 628.549,69).
