A top price for Bernardino Luini - as previously expected
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Evening, which included the work Saint Sebastian by Bernardino Luini. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 423,200.00 (€ 628,549.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Saint Sebastian is the most expensive artwork by Bernardino Luini that we have observed at auctions so far.
