Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work Two King Charles spaniels with a lute on a draped table by Bernard te Gempt. The price achieved of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,378.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard te Gempt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dutch A Good Catch, which sold at auction in April 2009 for EUR 13,250.00.
