This artwork by Benozzo Gozzoli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2005. In the Important Old Master Pictures auction, the work Salvator Mundi sold for GBP 62,400.00 (€ 90,510.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benozzo Gozzoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lamentation Over The Dead Christ in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 641,750.00 (€ 1,045,043.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Benozzo Gozzoli erzielte im Juli 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Old Master Pictures wurde die Arbeit Salvator Mundi für GBP 62.400,00 (€ 90.510,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benozzo Gozzoli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Lamentation Over The Dead Christ im Juli 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 641.750,00 (€ 1.045.043,53).
