This artwork by Benozzo Gozzoli achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2012. In the Old Master Paintings Part II auction, the work Christ Blessing sold for USD 74,500.00 (€ 57,075.00) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benozzo Gozzoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lamentation Over The Dead Christ in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 641,750.00 (€ 1,045,043.53).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benozzo Gozzoli erzielen.
