Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work The lock gate, possibly Strensham church on the Avon by Benjamin Williams Leader. The price achieved of GBP 3,570.00 (€ 3,985.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benjamin Williams Leader achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kempsey Church on the River Severn in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 135,750.00 (€ 215,180.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The lock gate, possibly Strensham church on the Avon von Benjamin Williams Leader zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.570,00 (€ 3.985,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benjamin Williams Leader erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kempsey Church on the River Severn im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 135.750,00 (€ 215.180,46).
