The auction ended at the price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,058.78), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of Robert E. Lee is the most expensive artwork by Benjamin Franklin Reinhart that we have observed at auctions so far.
