Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Le Génie du Mal assis sur un rocher by Benedict Masson for EUR 35.25. This price was achieved in the auction DESSINS ET TABLEAUX ANCIENS ET DU 19EME at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Benedict Masson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Amorous Approach in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 625.00 (€ 837.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Le Génie du Mal assis sur un rocher von Benedict Masson für EUR 35,25 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion DESSINS ET TABLEAUX ANCIENS ET DU 19EME bei Christies in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Benedict Masson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Amorous Approach im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 625,00 (€ 837,84).
