Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Waiting for the Sun by Ben Wright was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 448.00 (€ 413.32). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ben Wright - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Buffalo Grandfather from the Lakota Myth Series 62 x 42 in. unframed, which sold at auction in December last year for USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,310.99).
