A top price for Belisario Corenzio - as previously expected
In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work Saint John the Baptist preaching before Herod by Belisario Corenzio. The price achieved of GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,167.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,600.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Saint John the Baptist preaching before Herod is the most expensive artwork by Belisario Corenzio that we have observed at auctions so far.
