Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Miss and Mrs. by Beatriz Milhazes was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 88,200.00 (€ 79,509.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beatriz Milhazes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meu Limão in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,612,990.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Miss and Mrs. von Beatriz Milhazes wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 79.509,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beatriz Milhazes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meu Limão im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.612.990,01).
