In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art and the Collection of the, which included the work Battersea Church by Bateson Mason. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,778.02), 46% above the upper estimate. With this result, Battersea Church is even the most expensive work of art by Bateson Mason that we have observed at auctions so far.
