Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hortus Eyestettensis by Basilius Besler was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2006. The price achieved of USD 1,440.00 (€ 1,091.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Basilius Besler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 34,386.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hortus Eyestettensis von Basilius Besler kam im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.440,00 (€ 1.091,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Basilius Besler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hortus Eystettensis: Eight Plates im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 34.386,55).
