Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Bartolommeo Torregiani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January last year. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper auction, the work Recto: Two groups of farmers, one standing, the other working Verso: Landscape with two large trees in the foreground and a bridge in the middleground sold for USD 3,528.00 (€ 3,146.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bartolommeo Torregiani; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Finding of Moses (Ex. 2:1-10) sold at auction in February 2003 with the realized price of USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,543.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Bartolommeo Torregiani erzielte im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Recto: Two groups of farmers, one standing, the other working Verso: Landscape with two large trees in the foreground and a bridge in the middleground für USD 3.528,00 (€ 3.146,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Bartolommeo Torregiani; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Finding of Moses (Ex. 2:1-10) im Februar 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 5.975,00 (€ 5.543,19).
