Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Madonna And Infant Saint John The Baptist Adoring The Christ Child With Two Angels, The Annunciation To The Shepherds Beyond by Bartolomeo Di Giovanni was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in February 2013. The price achieved of USD 74,500.00 (€ 56,961.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bartolomeo Di Giovanni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Madonna and Child enthroned with Saints John the Evangelist and Jerome, and two Benedictine saints, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 121,250.00 (€ 145,214.00).
