Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Unloading a ship on the outskirts of town by Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove was sold in the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2012. The price achieved of EUR 5,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ferry Crossing in Haarlem in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 52,184.57).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Unloading a ship on the outskirts of town von Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove wurde im November 2012 in der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ferry Crossing in Haarlem im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 52.184,57).
