In May 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Dutch Bakenesserkerk Seen From The Valkestraat, Haarlem by Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,435.48), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ferry Crossing in Haarlem, which sold at auction in December 2021 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 52,184.57).

Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch Bakenesserkerk Seen From The Valkestraat, Haarlem von Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 18.435,48) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ferry Crossing in Haarlem beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 52.184,57) versteigert wurde.
