Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dutch a Capriccio View Of The Hofvijver, The Hague by Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 42,931.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2021 the work Ferry Crossing in Haarlem was auctioned for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 52,184.57).
