It achieved a price of EUR 8,125.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16 %. Admittedly, works by Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ferry Crossing in Haarlem in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 52,184.57).

Die Arbeit A 'capriccio' view of a Dutch town with children playing hoop von Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove kam im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 8.125,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ferry Crossing in Haarlem im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 52.184,57).
