Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction African Contemporary Art, which included the work Self Portrait Looking In The Mirror, 2006 by Barthélémy Toguo. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 7,216.00 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Barthélémy Toguo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work What'S Your Name, 2003, which sold at auction in December 2021 for MAD 260,000.00 (€ 24,580.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion African Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait Looking In The Mirror, 2006 von Barthélémy Toguo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 7.216,00 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Barthélémy Toguo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit What'S Your Name, 2003 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für MAD 260.000,00 (€ 24.580,31) versteigert wurde.
