Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Artcurial in Marrakech held the auction A Moroccan Winter Contemporary African Art, which included the work Sans titre - 1999 by Barthélémy Toguo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of MAD 16,500.00 – 27,500.00, the actual price achieved of MAD 17,459.00 (€ 1,527.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barthélémy Toguo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work What'S Your Name, 2003 in December 2021 with an auction result of MAD 260,000.00 (€ 24,580.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Artcurial in Marrakesch die Auktion A Moroccan Winter Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sans titre - 1999 von Barthélémy Toguo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von MAD 16.500,00 – 27.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von MAD 17.459,00 (€ 1.527,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barthélémy Toguo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit What'S Your Name, 2003 im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von MAD 260.000,00 (€ 24.580,31).
