The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,772.82) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barthel Beham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Ludwig X, Duke Of Bavaria in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 317,000.00 (€ 376,664.58).

Die Arbeit The Miser and the Miscarriage von Barthel Beham kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.772,82) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barthel Beham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Ludwig X, Duke Of Bavaria im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 317.000,00 (€ 376.664,58).
