Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Barnacle Ledge II by Barse Miller was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 280.50 (€ 264.57). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barse Miller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lincoln Park Merry-Go-Round in December 2007 with an auction result of USD 29,800.00 (€ 20,406.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Barnacle Ledge II von Barse Miller im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 280,50 (€ 264,57) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Barse Miller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lincoln Park Merry-Go-Round im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.800,00 (€ 20.406,77).
