Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of USD 5,736.00 (€ 4,606.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by Balthazar Wigand have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January 2011 the work A military exercise in Vienna, 21 September 1822 in the presence of Tsar Alexander of Russia was auctioned for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,746.99).

Die Arbeit A trompe-l'oeil with seventeen drawings of Viennese monuments von Balthazar Wigand kam im Januar 2004 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion.
