Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Showa era (1926-1989) by Umetaro Azechi for USD 1,083.75 (€ 924.86). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Umetaro Azechi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seven woodblock prints, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,518.49).
