In October 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Orientalist Art, 19th Century European Art, which included the work La Fontana dei Cavalli Marini, Villa Borghese by Aurelio Tiratelli. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,400.00 (€ 39,458.23), 26% above the upper estimate. Other works by Aurelio Tiratelli have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 89,625.00 (€ 45,379.75) in April 2004 for the work The Village Procession.
